Communicating Sustainability
Communicating Sustainability
In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity
In the crucial period 2026–2030, affordability, profitability, and future resilience are central priorities. At the same time, regulatory frameworks are becoming increasingly stringent. Instruments such as the BEN standard, the EPC label, and the M-level explicitly steer the sector toward climate objectives. Government supported tools such as TOTEM and GRO provide concrete support by enabling the measurable and evidence-based integration of environmental impact, lowcarbon material choices, and circular strategies into the construction process. As a result, CO2 reduction, conscious material use, and circular building strategies constitute the fundamental design criteria of today. Sustainability is no longer a niche concern; it has become a sector-wide challenge.

Integrated design
As an architectural office, we do not pursue a rhetoric of radical sustainability; rather, we aim for a consistent, parametric, and measurable application of sustainable architecture. Our projects demonstrate a strong focus on biophilic design, climate-adaptive building structures, and the thoughtful use of resources combined with energy-efficient solutions. Certifications such as BREEAM Excellent and GRO – Beter confirm these results.

Commitment?
The commitment of CONIX RDBM Architects extends beyond the projects themselves. The firm’s own office space, CASA CONIX, is constructed using reusable ex situ office partitions, insulation walls made from recycled denim, and demountable finishing materials. Their multifunctional space is even open to public events, with the in-house restaurant providing catering services. Furthermore, the practice is active within networks such as Architects Declare and Belgian Green Building Council, while closely monitoring national and international developments.
CONIX RDBM brings together a range of services and professional profiles in which architecture and climate awareness go hand in hand.
